Product launch: SubC helps customers stay grounded

At SubC, innovation drives everything we do, and a recent collaboration is a prime example of how we deliver groundbreaking solutions by combining multiple in-house trades.

Faced with the challenge of stabilizing wind turbine foundation structures – also called jacket structures – stored onshore, a client approached SubC for a solution they couldn’t find anywhere else. A major concern was whether these structures could be levelled again, had an earthquake tilted it.

In response, we developed the Preload System, now an innovative addition to our product portfolio. Leveraging expertise across engineering, project management, design, fabrication, electrical and hydraulics, we delivered a solution that not only met but exceeded our expectations and those of our customer.

The system is designed to stabilize heavy-duty loads of up 250 tons. A rail system allows the Preload System to be slided out under the support structure and moved to another position. Ensuring accurate distribution safely under the entire onshore period and free from concerns of putting the foundation out of balance.

Reflecting on the design process, our Engineering Manager at SubC, Karen la Cour Hjelholt, says:

“We worked closely with the client, holding frequent a lot of meetings to ensure the project remained aligned with expectations. Engineering only holds value if it truly reflects what the clients needs.”

Both during testing and installation, the Preload System surpassed expectations, proving capable of meeting the most stringent demands in harsh conditions. This new addition to SubC's product range is now fully operational for projects where stability and security are critical.
